I've just returned from a unique trip through the Chilean Lake District! It wasn't my first trip to Chile, which is perhaps why I was so impressed. Far beyond accommodation, Hotel Hacienda & Beyond Vira Vira offers a complete, all-inclusive tourism experience.

History

It all started when Swiss couple Michael and Claudia Paravicini arrived in Chile and fell in love with the country's southern region. The lakes, the rivers, the lush vegetation. The Lake District is also home to the Mapuche, the only indigenous Chilean tribe that was never conquered (neither by the Incas nor the Spanish) and which still retains its language, customs and traditions.

Michael and Claudia built a hacienda on the banks of the White River, brought in Swiss techniques for producing their own cheeses and started an organic plantation of vegetables that are now served to guests.

Experience

With design and decoration that exalt the Mapuche culture, Agora & Beyond Vira Vira is a charming and elegant lodge hotel that offers healthy cuisine and a farm-to-table proposal, all inclusive.

Staying there, you'll have the opportunity to try rafting on the region's beautiful rivers, trekking in the incredible natural parks around, horseback riding in enchanting landscapes, unforgettable bike trails and even immerse yourself in the Mapuche culture in one of the most interesting programs I did while I was there.

During the winter, snowboarding, skiing, dog sledding and snowshoeing are among the experiences on offer.

When night falls, a delicious spa and hot tubs await us while we savor the best Chilean wines, also included in the daily rate.
